I'm taking a cue from one of Brayden's favorite adages this year and declaring 2024 our "Best Year Ever". 2024 was filled with so much fun, love, laughter, and adventure. (And lots of tears, stress, anxiety- just keeping it real ha!) But when all is said and done, what sticks out are the good times that I don't want to forget.
We started the year building gingerbread houses (it's a family favorite around here), celebrating the holidays with friends, and telling the kids that we were going to have another baby!
February saw Brayden and Ashley turning four, fun in the snow, Ashley starting dance class, the first of many rides on the four wheeler for the year, a much needed girls day with friends, and my 34th birthday.
March was Easter and so much fun outside, especially on the trampoline!
In April, we witnessed a total solar eclipse and had our first camping trip of the year.
May was busy, busy, busy. We fished. We camped. We celebrated Katie turning two. Eric and I celebrated 11 years of marriage. We celebrated Mother's Day. We planted crops with grandpa. The twins had swimming lessons and started t-ball. I don't know how we fit it all in!
June had our first family vacation where we took on Lake Michigan and celebrated Father's Day, Eric and I had a day date with friends, we went to the fair, to Aikman Wildlife Center, and met our newest cousin Mason.
July was the best month of all as we welcomed Allison to our family. It doesn't get sweeter than her. But before that goodness, the twins had their last t-ball game, we went swimming at the pool, and celebrated the fourth of July.
August was filled with lots of Allie love. Lots of outdoor fun. And Brayden and Ashley's first day of Preschool at Bright Beginnings Pre-K!
September was for football games, s'mores, the pumpkin patch, and Allie's baptism.
In October Eric had his boys hunting weekend, Katie and Brayden went tp-ing, we celebrated Eric's birthday, we visited the zoo, Eric shot a buck, the kids helped my dad at harvest, we carved pumpkins, and celebrated Allison's first Halloween.
December has been filled with a lot of sickness, but in between there we snuck in Pancakes and PJ's with the cousins, gingerbread house (or train) making, Christmas lights and Santa, and of course, Christmas!
Brayden knew it all along. It truly was the best year ever. Here's to seeing what 2025 has in store for this Schackmann family!
