I'm pretty sure I blinked and Allison turned 5 months old. Where did this last month go!?
Allison celebrated her first Thanksgiving. We sure are extra thankful to have this turkey in our life.
We had our first sickness this month- RSV. The big kids all took their turns getting sick. They had a pretty good fever for about a day, then they had a bad cough for a few days. We found out that RSV was going around their daycare, so while I never had the big ones tested, I assumed that that is what they had. Even though I tried to keep them away from Allie and was saying "Cover your mouth!" on repeat, they still managed to get Allie sick. She had the same symptoms as the bigs- a fever and a cough. But she also had mucous pretty bad that seemed to hang out in her throat. When she would take her bottle, she would often start coughing quite a bit. One night she was super fussy and was coughing a ton. It seemed like she was working hard to breath, and she was having some chest retractions. Eric took her to the ER to get checked out, but they thankfully sad that everything was ok with her. And since they tested her for everything under the sun when she was there, we know that Allie for sure had RSV. I'm so thankful it wasn't a bad case and she's back to normal now!
She had her first Pancakes and PJ's with her cousins. Next year she'll get to partake in the pancake portion and not just the PJ part. Regardless, she looked pretty cute in her Christmas jammies!
Favorite things include playing with the animals on her playmat, putting every toy (and finger) into her mouth, all the attention, and watching the big kids play. She is still a big fan of bath time and likes to sit up to see all of the action.
She's turned into a thumb sucker and thinks mommy is the funniest. I also think she has a tickle spot on her left side as she always giggles when I get to that one spot. She is grabbing at her toes and reaching for toys.
A major dislike this month is the snot snucker. I'm pretty sure she just saw me holding it and started crying. I'm so glad we haven't had to use it as much in the past week. She is also not a fan of getting stuck on her stomach during tummy time.
Schedule wise we've stayed about the same as last month. Eating 5 bottles total, 3 bottles with 6 ounces and 2 bottles with 5 ounces. She is staying awake about 2 hours after a bottle, and still taking great naps. Since she has found her thumb, falling asleep has been even easier (not that it was ever hard, she's an excellent sleeper).
Allison is about 14.4 pounds and 25.75 inches long. She's wearing 6 month clothes and is in size 2 diapers. We are at a weird stage of socks where her baby socks are too small, but the next size up we have is too big. Baby socks are pretty pointless anyway, so we go without a lot at home.
Next month will be a big one- not just because she's turning six months old, but she'll celebrate her first Christmas and welcome in the New Year. I can't wait for all the adventures to come with her!
