As I sit here writing this, I'm constantly reminded that change is all around us. A little over a year ago, I was living with my best friend, graduating from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with my Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology, landing my first big girl job, marrying my high school sweetheart, and moving into my first house with my husband.
And here I am today, finishing packing up the mounds of boxes we have accumulating in our front room, wondering how we are going to fit everything we own into a U-Haul trailer. Just one short year later, we're repacking our life into boxes and getting ready for one of the biggest changes in our lives.
Yes, we're both leaving jobs we love, leaving the friends we've made, leaving the area we've grown to love. But life, like everything else, changes. It just so happens that this change brings this Schackmann family HOME.
Home to three acres of our own land. Home to our own pond to go fishing in. Our own yard to shoot clay pigeons or archery targets. Home to our families. Home to our friends. Home to a house where we will raise our own family someday. Home to the life we've been dreaming of for over a year. All thanks to a few little changes life threw our way.
So here's to change. To life. To adventure. I have a feeling it's going to be one hell of a ride.
