2022: A Year in Review

As December ends and 2022 draws to a close, I took a look back at all the good times we had this past year. And let me tell you, what a year we had! Each year I think that the next can't get any better, and then it does. Every year, never fails. But for now, let's look back at our best year yet!

First up, January. This month Eric and I enjoyed our fancy dinner party with friends. We also go to watch our house to come life as we got walls and a roof!

February met us with Eric wrapping up his basketball season (pictured with his first group of Freshman as seniors), Brayden and Ashley turning two, and myself turning 32.

March we enjoyed the great outdoors! The kids had fun playing in the yard, and Eric and I had fun playing at the Southern Illinois wineries with friends. On March 12th we also welcomed our newest nephew- Jack!

In April, Eric and I escaped to the Florida sunshine over Easter- it was much needed time for just the two of us before we welcomed baby #6.

And May, what a month May was! The twins had their first tractor rides, the inside of the new house really came together, and we welcomed our biggest blessing of the year- Katie!

June was filled with just as much fun, seeing the house get the outdoor finishing touches, watching Brayden and Ashley fall in love with Katie, munching on corndogs and shakeups at the fair, and admiring all the animals at the Aikman Wildlife Adventure.

July contained a lot of family fun, with a scorching hot Fourth of July parade, the twins first time bowling, some pool time, and an abundance of time outdoors.

August saw Katie's first week at daycare, our last night in the old house on the 17th (and the twins last day of cribs), and our first days at the new house. Eric and I also took a day date this month before I started back at school.

In September we said goodbye to the old house for good, attended our first football game of the year, and had Katie baptized.

October was filled with pumpkin patches, combine rides, friends, Eric's 33rd birthday, pumpkins, and the cutest monsters I've ever seen.

In November, Eric killed two bucks, the twins played in their first snow of the season and got their first haircuts, and we gave all the thanks for this beautiful life we've created.

And finally on to December, where we visited the Santa Train, enjoyed all the matching pajamas and Christmas tree pictures, tested how much frosting gingerbread house roofs can hold, and celebrated a peaceful Christmas together.

Last year, I wished for a year with less heartache and more fun, and we definitely achieved that! My goal for 2023, a little more patience and even more adventures and fun with my crew.
